The Steering Committee was launched in March 2024 and represents a diverse group of community members, district leadership, school staff and expert planners. United under one District umbrella to make the most impact for learners, this plan focuses on creating equity across grade levels and campuses, in support of the Strategic Plan and Portrait of a Graduate.

Moreno Valley USD’s community approved Bond Measure M in 2014 to repair existing facilities, as well as construct new facilities for the students of Moreno Valley USD. In the ten years since its passage, Measure M has been used to partially or fully fund projects such as new campus construction for Edgemont Elementary School, high school and elementary school classroom additions, athletic field renovations, a new theater at Moreno Valley High School, kitchen additions and renovations across many middle and high schools, safety and security improvements, the Early Learning Academy campus transformation, and classroom modernizations across the district.

It is time to develop a plan to continue such improvements over the next ten years, to continue the district’s progression in transforming facilities to better suit tomorrow’s learner.

Our team emphasized an inclusive, participatory process to elicit a wide range of input. We facilitated focus groups with educational leadership, teachers, and staff. Interviews were held with site administrators at each campus in August 2023. Student and community engagement surveys were administered in May 2023 alongside Town Hall meetings to reach the broader community and solicit input on campus plans. This robust process created a shared vision and strategies to modernize and upgrade our learning environments, support our students, and look to the future.
