Our North Star.

Modernizing our campuses to provide an equitable education for all students.

Our Long Range Facilities Master Plan is a collaborative planning initiative that builds upon the good work done-to-date with Measure M (passed in 2014) to further evolve our schools into environments that support a students journey to succeed in college, career, and life.

In May 2023, Moreno Valley USD launched an inclusive planning process to develop concrete actions the District can take over the next decade to modernize, upgrade and renovate our schools to support the core competencies of our Portrait of a Graduate.

Throughout the process, Moreno Valley USD collaborated with community leaders, staff, families, students, and school planning experts to develop actionable strategies the District will advance over the next decade to work towards building equitable learning environments.

Our Vision.

Adaptability, Communication, Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Perseverance... at the center of our Design Guidelines.

The Long Range Facilities Master Plan aligns our Strategic Plan, Learner Profile and educational programs to advance and build equitable facilities, creating innovative and inclusive learning environments dedicated to academic excellence for all students to thrive and succeed. The recommendations included in the plan are reflective of:

  • Modernization and upgraded learning environments to reflect changes in education, technology and safety standards;
  • Innovative learning environments that foster collaboration, wellness, and choice, while prioritizing inclusivity to accommodate individual needs and developmental ages;
  • An inclusive approach to planning grounded in the needs of residents; and
  • The district’s prioritization of projects that achieve equity district-wide for all learners to become future ready and positively impact the world.

Our Approach

Prioritizing equity with campus transformations over the next decade.

Over the next decade, Moreno Valley USD will continue to modernize and improve campuses that are eligible to receive state matching funds, proving the district’s commitment to remain responsible stewards of community support. Parking and drop-off improvements will occur where it is needed the most to comply with Title 5 requirements and address student safety concerns as well as adding shade structure installations for elementary school play areas. As funding becomes available, Moreno Valley USD will develop physical education facilities at the high schools in an equitable manner. As any project is executed, infrastructure related to safety, security, and technology will be included.
“Students are at the heart of the city, which is why it is critical to develop an inclusive and comprehensive process to ensure everyone is involved.”
